It was great being a visiting artist at the University of West Georgia this week. I had the opportunity to build Close Encounter in four days. Thanks to James Davis and everyone else involved in this project. I would not have been able to pull this thing off with out all the help. If you are ever around that area, drop by and check it out.
This week I had the opportunity to visit one of the most amazing sculpture parks I have ever seen. Tippet Rise Art Center is located amongst the beautiful landscape of Montana. The center exhibits works from some of the world's most respected sculptors. #MarkDisuvero #Ensamblestudio #Calder

Phil Proctor's Poplar Coffee Table
Phil Proctor selected a beautiful piece of Poplar atEutree to create his piece of art for LBC's RE:Purpose Silent Auction. After it was resawed and sanded down, Phil noticed that at certain perspectives, the shape of the outer edge of the wood mimicked the shape of the actual Atlanta BeltLine! Phil had this to say about this discovery, "It is fitting that this material came from the Atlanta BeltLine. The BeltLine is bringing new life to Atlanta's railroads, and we are bringing new life to a tree that came from there".
With the Poplar, Phil has decided to create a beautiful live-edge coffee table. The photos below show its transformation. Phil's coffee table and the other pieces created from the special Atlanta BeltLine trees will be available in the silent auction.
Calling at Artists: LBC's RE:Purpose Silent Auction Needs Your Art
We are encouraging artists to be inspired by LBC's RE:Purpose Silent Auction's theme of "Inspire, Educate & Illuminate" when creating art to donate to the silent auction. We would love to have donations of creative light fixtures made out of repurposed building materials and art incorporating light in its design. Free materials are available through the LBC warehouse (at the discretion of LBC staff) for use in auction pieces. If you have any questions, please click HERE. If you would like to make a silent auction donation, please fill out the online form available HERE.
On June 16, LBC will host its fourth RE:Purpose Silent Auction at Ponce City Market. LBC’s Silent Auction brings together supporters, friends and community members for the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. The auction will feature custom-designed furniture and artwork crafted from reclaimed materials. Advance Tickets are $40.00 and Day Of Tickets are $50.00. Tickets can be purchased by clicking this button.
We need lots of LBC Peeps to help before and during this special event. If you would like to volunteer to help out, please click HERE.
